What I really love most is watching my students grow. I love seeing the nerdy kid become the hip kid through mastering an instrument. SO COOL!!!

ABOUT MR. RICHIE FRANCO
My name is Richie Franco, Jr., Kalama Band Director, from da SOUTʻ SYEED of Chicago. Have been teaching band for 23 years.
After singing professionally with my alternative rock band, o'nit, for a few years, it dawned on me after opening for Santana and Lenny Kravitz, we might have a better shot if I took some vocal lessons. I enrolled at a pedagogical music school for some classes, but realized after watching some young student teachers, that "I could do this." I graduated from VanderCook College of Music 4 years later and have loved teaching music ever since.
